Bradford Bulls v Crusaders

Bradford boss Steve McNamara has decided to keep faith with the two youngsters who started at second row in their crushing win over Hull KR last weekend.

20-year-old Elliot Whitehead and 18-year-old James Donaldson played a starring role in the Bulls’ biggest triumph since 2008 at Odsal. McNamara hopes it is a sign that the young and hungry talent around the country is ready to step up to the mantle, ahead of his stint as England boss.

The experienced Jamie Langley has failed to shake off an injury in time for the Magic Weekend game, so Donaldson, who was making his first start seven days ago, and Whitehead continue against Brian Noble's side.

McNamara has no doubt that the pair can continue to perform at the highest level despite their relative inexperience. “It probably would have fazed others but not these two. They're both very competitive. They are still young boys and there are a lot of rough edges, but there's plenty to work on.”

Crusaders will hand a debut to Jarrod Sammut, who only arrived in Wales in midweek but has been thrust into action immediately by Noble, after training with his team-mates on Thursday.

The game will mark the opening of the Magic Weekend of Super League fixtures at 1pm on Saturday, with games involving Hull FC, Harlequins, Wakefield Wildcats and Leeds Rhinos later on in the day. Look out for exhibition stands at sporting events advertising your favourite team.
