Bradford Bulls 40-4 Hull KR

Bradford continued in their rich vein of form as they demolished Hull KR at the Grattan Stadium on Sunday.

Head coach Steve McNamara was named as England boss in midweek, but his side did not show any signs of distraction, as they made light work of KR to move up to fifth in the Super League table.

Bradford looked lively during the opening quarter and went ahead after seven minutes, when Andy Lynch touched down and Matt Orford converted.

Elliot Whitehead extended the lead after poor defensive work from KR allowed him to canter over, and Orford added the second of his eight goals.

Hull were lucky to go in at the break only twelve points down and Orford extended that deficit with two quick penalty goals after the restart.

Riki Sheriffe then grabbed his first when he tiptoed past two defenders to score. He added his second moments later, after some fine play from Steve Menzies set him free.

Brett Kearney rounded off the scoring with a brace of his own to add a gloss to the score-line, though KR did register a consolation late on when Ben Cockayne crossed.

McNamara was pleased after an equally adept performance at either end of the field. “It was a good all round performance. We did the basic things well. We held onto possession, didn't give too many penalties away and controlled the play the balls so we could defend.”
