Bradford overcame the struggling Harlequins at the Grattan Stadium to move above reigning Super League champions Leeds Rhinos in the table.
It was the Harlequins' seventh defeat of the campaign and it leaves the London based side two points adrift at the foot of the table.
Chris Melling had given the visitors an early lead after collecting Chad Randall's neat offload to slide over despite suggestions the pass was forward but Bradford hit back immediately as the influential Michael Platt was first to react to a grubber kick to touch down.
Matt Orford's conversion attempt came back off the upright but they did not have to wait long for another score as Australian Brett Kearney made light work of the Quins’ defence after a smart inside pass from Platt to open up a 10-6 advantage at the break.
The home side extended that lead after the restart when Steve Menzies tip toed through the visitor's back line but they kept themselves within touching distance thanks to Danny Orr's fine solo run and finish.
Matt Orford sealed the Bulls' fourth victory of the season with a late penalty and drop goal as they moved up to 8 th in the table.
Bradford head coach Steve McNamara was happy to secure the win despite his side not being at their best. “It wasn't an A-star performance from either team but it was nice to get two points and that was the key.”
